FLOOD MANAGEMENT

Nippon Koei is highly experienced and possesses specialized expertise in the field of flood damage mitigation. We have solved a diverse array of flood damage problems through both structural and non-structural measures.

Structural measures for flood management schemes have included dams, retarding basins, river improvement, diversion floodways, channel widening and drainage improvement. We use multi-sector approach considering forest and cropland protection on upper basin to mitigate flood water on lower basin.

Non-structural measures aimed at alleviating flood damages and building community disaster management system have included land use management, land improvement and resettlement, flood forecasting and warning & evacuation systems, and training and education of local engineers and residents.
