In May 2001, Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. established its Global Operating Policies. Five years have since passed and the operating environment of our enterprise has changed considerably and public expectations over the roles and social responsibilities of corporate entities have increased. In response to these changes, Nippon Koei has revised the Global Operating Policies to reinforce our corporate principles and values.

On this revision, we extend the management philosophy of Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. to all subsidiary companies, and Global Operating Policies have been developed into the "Charter of Business Conduct" for the entire Nippon Koei Group. I consider it vitally important that we, the directors, corporate auditors, and employees of all Group companies, share the philosophy of this Charter of Business Conduct and carry out our every activity so that we work in harmony to develop the entire Nippon Koei Group.

Nippon Koei will celebrate its 60th anniversary in June this year. I fervently hope that all directors, corporate auditors, and employees of the Nippon Koei Group embrace the founding spirit of "acting with sincerity" while applying this Charter in their day-to-day activities with the ultimate aim of pursuit of the sustainable development of the Nippon Koei Group and society as a whole.
