As we enter the 21st century, the socio-economic environment of Japan is undergoing considerable change. Japanese society has developed to a level comparable to that of Europe and North America. But this maturity brings many new challenges. We need to develop our social infrastructure to create a safer and more comfortable society, cope with a low birth rate and aging population, preserve the environment, and undertake urban regeneration and regain economic strength. By contrast, many developing countries are attempting to integrate with the world, but face harsh realities such as poverty, environmental destruction, internal political conflict, ande experience problems with access to sufficient food, water resources, and energy. The answer to meeting these challenges lies not just in applying leading technologies and specialized knowledge from a variety of fields, but in integrating these skills and knowledge to devise optimal solutions. The Nippon Koei group has approximately 700 technical specialists in all the necessary fields and offers solutions to an enormous range of technical problems.
The word “koei” in our name is derived from the chinese characters for “technology” and “management”. Thus our company name means “the Japanese company that combines technology and management.” Offering comprehensive technical consulting solutions, we have lived up to our name taking responsibility for many large-scale projects around the world from the planning and design stages right through to managing the construction.
